Responsibilities

The pension beneficiary must inform CSSA of any and all facts that may affect the pension and its payment, i.e. in particular the change of address, change of the account number where the pension is to be remitted, etc.

If the widow/widower enters in a new marriage, he/she must inform CSSA of this within 8 days. Should he/she fail to do so he/she commits an unauthorized drawing of the benefit and the benefit is subject to a refund. In a person becomes a widow/widower again after entering into a new marriage, he or she may be entitled to a widow's/widower’s pension after the second spouse.
