Payment of benefit

As a rule, the widow's/widow's pension is paid for one year after the death of the spouse.

At the end of this period, the payment of the survivor's pension shall continue only in clearly defined cases, i.e.:

• the surviving person takes care of a dependent child or takes care of a child, or of his/her parent, or parents of the deceased spouse (father-in-law, mother-in-law) who are dependent on his/her assistance in the II, III or IV degree;

• receives himself/herself a disability pension in the third degree;

• has reached age prescribed by law.

The widow/widower receives the pension as long as he/she meets the specified conditions.
