Submission of application

A pension application must be submitted personally by the applicant to the RSSA (DSSA) or online. An application for an old-age pension may be submitted no earlier than four months before the desired pension commencement date. It may also be submitted at any later time. However, early retirement pension cannot be granted retroactively and may only be awarded from the date the application is submitted.

Persons residing in another EU Member State or in a country with which the Czech Republic has concluded a bilateral social security agreement generally submit their Czech pension application in their country of residence through the local pension insurance institution. This institution then forwards the application to the CSSA.
