Entitlement proceedings, time limits and issuing of decisions

Once it is drawn up at the DSSA (or with a foreign pension institution in the country of residence), the pension application is forwarded to the CSSA's headquarters, whose competence is to decide on the pension entitlement and its amount. The statutory period for processing is 90 days.

CSSA will send the applicant a written decision on the pension award. The decision will indicate both the date from which the pension has been granted and the amount.

Where the conditions for the pension entitlement have not been met, a decision rejecting the application will be sent to the applicant that will specify the grounds for rejection.
