Submission of application

A pension application must be submitted personally by the applicant to the RSSA (DSSA) or online. It is advisable to do so after consulting their attending physician, who is familiar with their health. If the individual is unable to submit an application in person due to poor health, a family member may submit it on their behalf. However, the family member must provide the entitled person’s consent to submit the application, along with a medical certificate confirming that the serious health condition prevents the individual from submitting the application in person.
