CSSA continuously examines the entitlement to the orphan's pension and it beneficiary must demonstrate that the conditions for its payment continue. He/she always does so with the completion of the elementary (compulsory) education, and then the follow-up studies, or systematic preparation for future occupation, are demonstrated. Students of secondary school or universities therefore present an up-to-date certificates of the duration or continuation of their studies. The document shall be sent directly to the CSSA headquarters, it can also be submitted at the local competent DSSA. The certificate of studies must be provided even if the student has renew his studies after previous suspension, and whenever CSSA so require.

The certificate of studies shall contain identification details of the student and school, form of studies, year and when the studies are to be normally completed. The certificate shall also bear the reference number under which the orphan's pension is registered (most often the beneficiary's Czech birth number).

Students of non-daily forms of study who

  • have an extra income shall also provide a statement to the effect that their gainful activity does not constitute participation in insurance;
  • are at the same time registered with the labour office as job seekers, together with a certificate of studies, shall provide a confirmation from the regional labour office that they do not receive unemployment benefits or retraining support.

The students of so-called “in attendance” studies who receive an orphan's pension can have income not only during holidays. Students of other forms of studies (distance, combined) can also earn an extra income while receiving an orphans' pension, but this must be a gainful activity that does not constitute participation in pension insurance, i.e. their social security premiums are not paid from their income (pension insurance). Otherwise, they will not be entitled to the pension.

If the studies (systematic preparation future occupation) continue and the orphan has not reached 26 years of age, he/she still will be entitled to the payment of the orphan's pension after the marriage. If the specified conditions are met, the fact that a person have become a parent does not prevent payments of the orphan's pension or payments of the parental allowance.

Professional assistance and any information related to the specific situation of the citizen shall be provided by the DSSA specialists at their place of residence, call centers at 800 050 248 or client centres at the Prague Headquarters.
