Restoration of a widow’s or widower’s pension may occur if one of the legal conditions (see the section “Payment of benefits”) is fulfilled within five years after the previous entitlement to the widow’s or widower’s pension ceased. However, payment will not be automatically reinstated; it always requires a new application accompanied by documents proving that the conditions have been met.
