Renewal of an entitlement to widow's/widow's pension may occur if one of the legal conditions (see Payment of benefit) is fulfilled within two years following the previous termination of the entitlement to the widow's/widower's pension. However, the payments are not renewed automatically, but always under an application filed with the locally competent DSSA (or with a foreign pension insurance institution in the country of residence), where the documents demonstrating that the conditions are fulfilled are submitted.
